Recently Mayo Clinic reported on Hypnosis it has been used for thousands of years successfully by many cultures. Despite the concern that it is against religious beliefs many of the best hypnotists are clergy.

What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis, can also be referred to as hypnotherapy or hypnotic suggestion, is an altered state of consciousness. When you are under this hypnotic state you are in complete control of your body and what suggestions you accept. With hypnosis you can have more focused attention. You can be more open and less critical or disbelieving and more responsive to suggestions.
The purpose of hypnosis is a therapeutic technique is to help you understand and gain more control over your behavior and well-being.
Hypnosis appears to communicate with your body through nerve impulses, hormones and body chemicals. Hypnosis creates a state of deep relaxation and quiets the mind. When your under hypnosis you can concentrate intensely on a specific thought, memory, feeling or sensation while blocking distractions.
